Enterprise Network Engineer **Top Secret Clearance**

GCyber is currently seeking a Network Engineer to support a Department of Defense customer in Arlington, VA. As the Network Engineer, you will support the design and administration of the DISA Joint Service Provider (JSP) enterprise network.  

**This position requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance**  

What You Will Do: 

  • Design, engineer, implement, and and monitor network systems.
  • Perform a variety of networking engineering tasks including configuration of network tools to provide up-to-date operational and performance status of Pentagon networks and devices (e.g., Aruba Airwave, Netcool, ScienceLogic)
  • Tune network monitoring tools to enhance event monitoring and event data quality
  • Utilize SNMP / MIBs / Syslog knowledge to detect and respond to network infrastructure events, incidents, and outages.
  • Assist with the engineering and development of network tool configurations to meet analyst correlation requirements as well as performing event quality maintenance tasks.
  • Perform systems hardening to DoD Standards.  Support tasks required to apply vendor patches and new designs to keep products up-to-date and meet security requirements.
  • Interface with IT operations staff to adapt network tool capabilities to meet operational requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and execute standard procedures for the administration, backup, disaster recovery, and operation of the network Enterprise Management System (EMS).
  • Maintain up to date documentation of network architecture designs/configurations.
  • Create scripts to automate routine network administration tasks.
  • On-call support may be required

Required Education, Certifications, and Experience: 

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GISCP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) 
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience
  • 5+ years of directly related network engineering experience
  • Candidates should have familiarity and/or experience with:
    • Event monitoring
    • Network performance monitoring
    • Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, and/or BigIP
    • SNMP, Syslog, ACL’s, VLAN, Routing and Switching
    • Linux / Unix scripting (shell, bash, perl, python)
